Burnt Hills, NY — BHBL JV Spartan baseball lost to the Averill Park Warriors 7-3 on Tuesday. Averill Park was the first to get on the board in the first when Daley singled, scoring two runs. BHBL tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by Elijah Rosendo, and a groud out by Anthony Canarelli. Averill Park took the lead in the top of the second. Herald singled, scoring one run, to give them the lead, 3-2. Cooper Houghton grounded out in the bottom of the fourth, leading to RBI to tie the game, 3-3. A single by Daley gave Averill Park the lead, 4-3, in the top of the fifth, never surrendering the lead again. The Spartans totaled 5 hits and three runs over seven innings. Sam Pezzolesi took the loss for BHBL, after pitching a solid 4 and 2/3 innings, giving up 2 earned runs on four hits, 3 walks, and striking out 6. Elijah Rosendo and Charlie Venditti each collected two hits to lead the Spartans. Houghton and Rosendo also each drove in a run, while Rosendo had 2 stolen bases. BHBL ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 4 stolen bases as a team for the game. Next up for BHBL JV Spartans is a game at Columbia Blue Devils on Wednesday.
