East Greenbush, NY — The BHBL JV Baseball team couldn't keep up with Columbia and fell 16-1 at Columbia High School on Tuesday. Columbia got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, scoring eight runs on five hits and a walk. They then scored a run in the fourth, six runs in the fifth, before Burnt Hills could get their first run on the board in the sixth. Adam Yerina took the loss for BHBL. He went two innings, giving up eight runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. Karl LaFountain pitched 2.1 innings in relief, giving up six runs (five earned) on three hits, six walks, and two strikeouts. Tucker Sunkes also pitched 1.2 innings in relief, giving up two runs (zero earned) on three hits, no walks, and three strikeouts. Tucker Sunkes went 1-3 at the plate, as he led the team with one RBI. George Connally, Elijah Rosendo, Yerina, Sam Pezzolesi, and Sunkes each collected one hit for Burnt HIlls. BHBL JV Baseball will travel to Niskayuna for their next game on Wednesday.
