Burnt Hills, NY — The BHBL JV Spartan's bats were strong against Bethlehem on Friday, but it wasn't enough as BHBL fell 11-10. Bethlehem collected 13 hits, while the Spartans had eight. Bethlehem opened the scoring the top of the 1st, scoring two runs on a single. Burnt hills flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring 10 runs on five hits to take a 10-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by John Klopfer that drove in three. Bethlehem worked its way to chip away at the lead throughout the game, until jumping back into the lead in the top of the sixth inning after an double and single that both brought home runs. Elijah Rosendo took the loss for Burnt Hills. The righty went two and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking two. Adam Yerina started the game for the Spartans. The righty surrendered nine hits and eight runs (five earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Josh Darcy went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Burnt Hills. As a team, the Spartans had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Charlie Venditti and Karl LaFountain led the team with two free passes each. The Spartans stole seven bases on the game, with Charlie Venditti pacing them with four of his own.
