Laguna Niguel, CA — February 29, 2024 In an early season high school varsity boys golf match that combined the beauty of the El Niguel Country Club with the challenges of the course, Aliso Niguel High School emerged victorious against Laguna Beach High School. The match, played under the fading light, showcased remarkable talent and good sportsmanship on every hole. The teams battled it out over the scenic yet demanding course, but due to dwindling daylight, the scores were calculated over 8 holes instead of the customary 9 for high school matches. The Aliso Niguel squad secured a decisive win with a final score of 187, while Laguna Beach posted a total of 208. Austyn Le, representing Aliso Niguel, played a fantastic round, ultimately claiming the coveted title of match medalist. Le's stellar performance culminated in an impressive even-par 32, over 8 holes. Despite the team loss, Laguna Beach High School had its share of standout moments. Kiyan Arshadi emerged as the low scorer for the Laguna team, delivering a commendable performance and an 8-hole score of 39. The other Laguna players contributing to the team score included Josh Bellisime (41), Ranen Seeck (42), Chase Tyson (43) and Luke Bo (43). The El Niguel Country Club provided a picturesque backdrop to the friendly competition, with each player facing the dual challenge of showcasing their golf prowess and adapting to the unique features of the course.
