Aliso Viejo, CA — March 6, 2024 In a battle of determination and resilience, the varsity boys' golf teams from Laguna Beach High School and Aliso Niguel High School faced off in challenging conditions at the Aliso Viejo Country Club on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Despite cold temperatures, gusty winds and sporadic rain, the players delivered an intense and competitive non-league match. Aliso Niguel emerged as the victors with a collective team score of 202, while Laguna Beach displayed a commendable performance, finishing closely behind with a score of 213. The challenging weather conditions added a layer of difficulty to the already tricky Aliso Viejo Country Club course, testing the players' abilities to adapt and maintain focus. Austyn Le, representing Aliso Niguel, demonstrated exceptional skill and composure under adverse weather conditions, ultimately earning medalist honors with a remarkable one-under-par score of 34. Sophomore Kiyan Arshadi led the charge for the Laguna Beach Breakers, posting a solid score of 38 (+3). Additional scores for the Breakers include freshman Josh Bellisime 39, Senior Chase Tyson 41, junior Luke Bo 47, senior Ranen Seeck 48, and sophomore Hudson Mills 49. Both teams exhibited sportsmanship and perseverance throughout the match, overcoming the weather-related obstacles to deliver an exciting competition.
