Laguna Niguel, CA — April 4, 2024 In a showcase of exceptional golfing talent, Newport Harbor High School's boys' varsity golf team reaffirmed their status as one of the top teams not only in the Wave League but also in the Sunset Conference with a comfortable victory over Laguna Beach High School on April 4, 2024. Played over nine challenging holes at the esteemed El Niguel Country Club course in Laguna Niguel, California, Newport Harbor delivered a dominant performance, securing an impressive win with a score of 192 to Laguna Beach's 231. El Niguel Country Club's reputation as a tough and demanding course precedes it, making any team score under 200 a rare feat. However, Newport Harbor's exceptional play saw four of their players shoot under 40 on the day. Leading the charge for Newport Harbor was Tyler Richardson, who set the pace with an impressive even-par 36, to earn match medalist honors. Despite facing stiff competition, Laguna Beach High School's sophomore standout, Kiyan Arshadi, delivered a stellar performance, posting an impressive career-low score of two-over-par 38. Arshadi's remarkable skill and determination were a shining light for Laguna Beach. In addition, senior Davis Dix came through for the Breakers with his best score of the year, posting a 44. Hudson Mills continued his solid play of late with a 48. Chase Tyson 50 and Russell Franconi-Krychman 51 rounded out the Breakers team scores.
