Laguna Beach, CA — In a highly competitive junior varsity golf match, Laguna Beach High School and Huntington Beach High School squared off at the picturesque Ben Browns Golf Course in Laguna Beach, California. In a close battle over nine challenging holes, Huntington Beach emerged victorious with a narrow margin of 207 to 211. The scenic yet narrow course tested the skills of both teams, as the Sunset Conference match proved to be a thrilling contest from start to finish, with every stroke making a difference in the outcome. Huntington Beach's Shea Rasmussin delivered a standout performance, shooting an impressive even-par 32 to claim the low score of the match. Despite the loss, Laguna Beach put up a valiant effort, spearheaded by James Schroeder, who led the way for the Breakers with a solid score of 38. Schroeder's consistent play and leadership were instrumental in keeping the match competitive until the final hole. Trent Beason 40, Noah Kimball 42, Beckett Thomson 42, and Sasha Riahi 49 rounded out the scoring for Laguna. As the season progresses, Laguna Beach's JV team is showing it can compete and win against all of the Sunset Conference teams, which bodes well for the Breaker's golf program over the next several years.
