San Juan Capistrano, CA — The Lions stuck to our script today and put a hurt on the blue kool aid man, 10-8. Both coaches elected to play their top players at line 2, SM in attempt to have Riley rotate to their top player in round 3, in hopes that he would tire, no such luck! Riley took out SMs #1, 6-4 in what KOach says, "Best singles set ever on these courts, surpassing Danny Day v Alex Michelson a few years ago. Riley Anson is simply the best high school player that has ever played at the JSerra Tennis Complex!" Cole Carlson had an epic round one win at line 3, which was REALLY the key to the whole match. Brady Schaefgan added 2 singles sets as the solo boys placed a half dozen points on the board! Connor Faul with Michael Geffre pick up 2 hard fought doubles matches with our 2 other doubles teams adding 1 set each to their collective four sets. This script was really close to what the boys and KOach drew up yesterday at a rare no-school practice. KOach was very pleased with the collegiate energy the Lions drew upon in the first 2 rounds, but, needs that to continue throughout round 3 as well. Our crowd was amazing and supportive and a big help in keeping the boys pumped up! We host St John Bosco Thursday at home. GO LIONS !!!
