San Juan Capistrano, CA — JV Prep repeated an earlier win at Aliso Niguel with another 10-8 win margin, following a 11-7 win at Foothill last evening….on a late season roll! A solid team effort, fairly balanced - getting 6 wins in doubles and 4 in singles. We only won 1 of 4 tie-breakers, an exciting 2nd round set with Stirling beating their line #1 player on court #1. The Lions really worked that top player, because Omar and Zack also pushed that guy to 5-5 and forced TB’s as well. All 3 defeated their #3 player. Stirling gets MVP honors for the singles group. Robert Schweitzer and Robbie Watson played very well today, winning 2 of 3 sets in doubles - well done guys! Declan Hughes and Gianni Rossetti picked up 1 win in round 2. Going large and 3 for 3, kudos and MVP honors to Noah Lau and Micah VerBurg who were the only ones to beat their top team. Well done by all the doubles, giving us the margin of victory. Missing a couple of players, losing 3 of 4 tie-breakers but still winning 10-8 speaks again to the overall team improvement. Huntington Beach cancelled Friday’s scheduled match :( So next up: at Sage Hill, Saturday, April 27th. 9am warmup. Last match of season - finish strong!
