Bethlehem, PA — The Freedom Patriots came into Tuesdays game against Allentown Central Catholic swinging the bats well winning their last two matchups. Michael Cobb rang the bell to get the Pates started in their first at bats with a 1 out double in the gap. Suarez would follow with an RBI single and a few batters later Walker would plate Suarez on a sacrifice fly to put the Patriots up 2-0 after 1 inning. The 2nd inning would mirror the first resulting in 2 runs off a lead off single by Horvath, RBI double from Andrews, and an RBI single for Cobb. Michael Horvath pitched a complete game surrendering only 2 runs, on 7 hits, and striking out 8 Vikings. Horvath pitched with confidence as Freedom would tack on 5 runs with quality at bats which lead consistently to walks and hard hit balls. Cobb lead the team with 3 hits on the day but each of the past 3 wins has seen a different person step up and lead the offense. The Patriots have recorded 35 runs on 34 hits, while drawing 14 walks and only striking out 10 times during this streak. Heck, they have even reached base 10 additional times by being hit by pitch. That is a great recipe for a successful offense. Freedom look to keep it rolling on Thursday at Stroudsburg.
