Fairfield, CA — On Thursday, 3/21 the Vanden JV Vikings finished off a 3-game series sweep versus Fairfield High School. The Vikings clipped the Falcons by a score of 21-0. The win improves their record to 6-3 overall, and 3-0 in MEL play. Although the game was shortened to only 4 innings due to the CIF JV baseball time limit rule, the Vikings were still able to gather 13 hits collectively. Dylan Cameron led the way, going 3 for 5 at the plate with 2 RBI’s and 2 stolen bases. The sophomore also reached base twice via Falcon errors, which enabled him to score 5 runs in the game. Mateo Gonzalez got the scoring started for the home team with a 3 RBI double with 2 outs in the first inning. Another 3 RBI double was cracked deep to left-centerfield by Caiden Hitchcock in the 4th inning. Additional doubles were added by Lucky Perez and Max Stephenson. Stephenson also started the game with his toe on the slab for Vanden. He worked 3 innings, allowed 0 runs on 1 hit. The freshman also struck out 5 Falcons on his way to the win.
