Vacaville, CA — Vanden Vikings won big over Wood 15-8 on a continuation game from Wednesday. Ryan Cahalan grounded out, which helped Vanden tie the game at one in the top of the second. An error gave Wood the lead 2-1, in the bottom of the second. Vanden took the lead in the top of the third inning after Bryce Alcantara singled, Austin Hammerschmidt singled, and Cayne Hill singled, each scoring one run. Vanden flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth to take a 14-8 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Tranchina that drove in three runs. Rhyan Solomon-King earned the win for Vanden. He gave up one hit and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking none. Mariano Gonzalez led things off on the bump for Vanden. He surrendered four hits and four runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out seven and walking four. Daevion Lindsay appeared in relief for Vanden. Vanden piled up 16 hits in the game. Alex Maushart went 3-for-3 while adding two walks at the plate to lead Vanden. Hill and Tranchina each drove in three runs. Hammerschmidt and Kekoa Grinton each collected multiple hits .
