Fairfield, CA — Cayne Hill drove in six runs on three hits to lead Vanden past Armijo 12-2 on Friday. Hill doubled in the first inning with a bases loaded clearing double. He added a single in the fourth and singled in the fifth scoring two. Vanden jumped out to an early lead after Hill cleared the bases and Myles Adams was struck by a pitch driving in a run. Vanden scored five runs on five hits in the fifth inning. Austin Hammerschmidt singled, scored two runs, Jack Tranchina singled, scoring one run, and Hill singled scoring two runs. Chris Marley earned the win for Vanden. The tall right handed surrendered four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Marley attacked the Armijo hitters and limited the free passes. Vanden collected nine hits in the game while showing patience at the plate. They amassed seven walks as Daevion Lindsay and Bryce Alcantara led the team with two passes each. Hammerschmidt stole two bases. Vanden turned two double plays in the game.
