Fairfield, CA — On Friday, 4/12 the Vanden JV Vikings destroyed the Royals from Armijo High School by a score of 15-1. The win completed a series sweep of the Royals and improved their record to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in MEL play. The Vikings had an outburst on offense, spraying the diamond with 12 total hits as a team. They received multiple hit games from Martin Perez (2 for 3, 2 runs scored), Corbin Erickson (2 for 2, RBI, 2 runs scored), and Hayden Book (2 for 3, double, RBI, run scored). The visitors also collected 2 RBI hits from Dylan Cameron and Nolan Moore Brewer. Sophomore Brian Lanigan worked the first 3 innings, allowing 2 harmless singles and striking out 4 Royals on his way to being credited with the win in the game that was shortened by the mercy rule. The Vikings continue MEL play next week with a 3-game series versus Vacaville High School.
