Aurora, CO — Rangeview Varsity Raiders defeated Northglenn 12-2 on Friday thanks in part to nine runs in the fifth inning. Max Mcginnis drew a walk, scoring one run, Sebastian Heredia-Ruiz drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Anthony Reyes doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Micah McPhail drew a walk, scoring one run, Ryan Luevanos was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Mcginnis singled, scoring one run. Rangeview Varsity Raiders got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Northglenn committed an error, and Darris Davenport scored after tagging up, each scoring one run. Heredia-Ruiz earned the win for Rangeview Varsity Raiders. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. J Dreiling took the loss for Northglenn. They went four innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out five and walking two. Rene Castillo Orihuela, Heredia-Ruiz, and and McPhail each drove in two runs for Rangeview Varsity Raiders. Mcginnis went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Rangeview Varsity Raiders in hits. Davenport led Rangeview Varsity Raiders with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. R Alcantar, E Rodriguez, and Dreiling each collected one hit for Northglenn. Rodriguez and E Hinton each drove in one run for Northglenn. Rangeview Varsity Raiders will travel to Eaglecrest for their next game on Tuesday.
