Fullerton, CA — Troy’s football team stopped a 2-point conversion by Sonora with 39 seconds left Friday night to seal a 41-39 victory in the teams’ Freeway League opener at Fullerton. The Raiders (1-5, 0-1) scored on a leaping touchdown reception by Maurice Herrera but the Warriors (2-4, 1-0) stopped a run playing on the 2-point conversion and recovered the ensuing onside kick. Troy’s offense was led by quarterback Jonny Rochester and wide receiver Blake Ballin, who connected on two touchdown catches.
