Bethlehem, PA — There was a game plan going into the game against Parkland, and Matt Heineman executed it at a high level for 5 innings. He was a MAN amongst boys as he had The Trojans hitters guessing and off balance throughout. Heineman recorded 6 strikeouts and only allowing 3 hits. The Patriots offense also came up huge in the dominant performance. They found a way to put pressure on Parklands defense early and often. Freedoms hitters came through over and over doing the small things well. They were patient and worked counts, had multiple two strike hits, laid down bunts, and took the extra base on the base paths. Cobb stayed hot going 3-4 with 2 RBI’s but he wasn’t the only one at the party. Suarez, Phillips, Peluso, and Heineman all had multiple hits as well along with Johnny Phillips getting his 2nd homerun of the season. Walker took the role of closer to a new level by not only coming in to pitch the 6th inning holding down the shut out. But he then took it up himself to top off the 4 run bottom of the sixth with a single to right center scoring the 10th run for The Pates initiating the mercy rule, ending the game in walk off fashion. Great end to the week for the team as they look to a rematch against Northampton on Monday at Northampton High School.
