Nazareth, PA — In a league game against a tuff opponent, you know going in to the game that you will have to have a gritty outting from your pitching, solid defense behind mid him, and execute situational hitting. The pitching staff did not have their best stuff but did prove to be gritty only giving up 2 earned runs while recording 7 strikeouts and only walking 2 batters. The defense struggled to find any confidence and the offense had glimpses of opportunity but never produced a key hit to start a rally. Chase Walker led the offense with 2 hits on the day and Matt Heineman pitched 4 solid innings recording 5 of the 7 strikeouts for Freedom. He did not allow an earned run in his relief effort which kept The Patriots within striking distance through most of the game. In the end, Freedom did not play like the confident team that had them on a 5 game winning streak just last week. They will need to find and bring that ball club to the field on Wednesday as they matchup in another key league game against Easton. Go Pates!
