Mira Loma, CA — Miller Varsity Rebels could not keep pace with Jurupa Valley 4-3 on Tuesday at Jurupa Valley High School. Miller Varsity Rebels opened the scoring in the second after Adrian Quintana singled, scoring one run. Jurupa Valley took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Nathan Ortega hit a sacrifice fly, and Francisco Urena laid down a sacrifice bunt, each scoring one run. Gabe Mendez started on the hill for Miller Varsity Rebels. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and four runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one. Urena opened the game for Jurupa Valley. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking two.
