Fontana, CA — Miller Varsity Rebels could not keep pace with San Bernardino 10-6 on Thursday. San Bernardino opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. San Bernardino first got on the board when Antonio Quintero singled, scoring two runs. Miller Varsity Rebels captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the first when Nate Lora singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Adrian Quintana singled, scoring one run. Aiden Zuno singled, which helped San Bernardino tie the game at four in the top of the second. In the bottom of the second, Miller Varsity Rebels broke up the tie when Ilya Ridge doubled, scoring one run. Then a single by Liam Good followed to extend the lead to 6-4. San Bernardino took the lead, 7-6, in the top of the fourth thanks to singles by Sean Bonds, and Alexander De La Paz. Brayden Williamson earned the win for San Bernardino. They allowed four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out one and walking three. Gabe Mendez took the loss for Miller Varsity Rebels. The starting pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing 10 runs (four earned) on 10 hits, striking out five and walking three. Raymond Merancio began the game for San Bernardino. They gave up seven hits and six runs (four earned) over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Miller Varsity Rebels accumulated 11 hits in the game.
