Farmington Hills, MI — Wednesday night was the best team effort the lady jackets have given so far this season. Maybe it was a trip on the blue activity bus fueled with candy salad. Or maybe it was the heads up, seven up, team bonding to pass the time while arriving to North Farmington a little bit too early. Whichever it was the girls played tough as a unit! North Farmington started the game strong with an early lead that was maintained through the half. However, it took most of the first half for the Raiders to get to the ten point lead, with most points coming from either free positions or shots that just barely rolled in. Avondale got one on the board late in the half from Alissa Nalou, heading into the half 11-1. At the half the team was fired up, feeling more confident in their play and fueled by the competition on the field. After the half is when the lady jackets truly came into their own. The second half letting in just three goals! Huge shoutout to all the defenders tonight, Ahtziri Fernandez, Melanie Flores, Scotland Hopkins, Emily Yeokum, Mikayla Genwright, Laurynn Carr, and Tamil Ricks. Our goalie of the night Trenitee Carroll played her first whole game with 13 saves! The jackets did get one more goal in the second half thanks to a diving shot, her 2nd of the night, by Alissa Nalou. This game the girls showed so much growth, fixing what we worked on in practice, and truly giving it 110%. Finally there is no better compliment than hearing the other team say "wow that team seems to have a really good bond!". We are excited to show you what we've got in our next game Monday at home at 5pm, be there!
