Bethlehem, PA — Kurtis Crossman collected three hits in four at bats, as Easton Area JV defeated Bethlehem Catholic 14-4 on Friday at BCHS. Crossman doubled in the fifth and sixth innings and singled in the third. The JV Rovers won thanks in part to an eight-run fifth innings. Easton jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first, but lost the advantage in the second when Becahi went ahead by one. The runs plated in the fifth turned out to be all the JV Rovers needed for victory. Jacob Hackman earned the victory for Easton. The right-hander threw five strong innings, striking out eight and only walking one. Winston Hornik tossed a 1-2-3 final inning in relief for the JV Rovers. Easton tallied 13 hits in the game. Brendan Bowman led the JV Rovers with three RBIs. Brody Dech and Jack Miller each collected multiple hits. Next up for Easton is a game against arch-rival Phillipsburg at Charles Richards Field on Saturday. Game will follow the freshman game (approximately 12 noon).
