Easton, PA — Jackson Gubich collected three hits in five at bats, as Easton Area Junior Varsity defeated Acton-Boxborough 16-8 on Saturday at Easton. Acton-Boxborough got on the board in the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead. The JV Rovers tied the game in the bottom of the first. The JV Rovers took a commanding lead in the bottom of the second, scoring eight runs on four hits to make it 10-2. Acton-Boxborough scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fifth to make a game of it. But the JV Rovers extended their lead with one run in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the sixth. Jacob Hackman earned the win for Easton JV. He surrendered four hits and three runs, striking out six and walking one. Winston Hornik threw two innings of scoreless ball in relief. Next up for the JV Rovers is a game at Louis E. Dieruff on Monday at 4pm.
