Nampa, ID — Skyview is 7-0 against Emmett since April of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Skyview Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Emmett Huskies at 3:00 p.m. Skyview is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games. Skyview can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Vallivue with a sharp 16-4 win. Skyview's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season. Joe Bernal looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also didn't allow any walks). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. At the plate, Grady Daniels was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Tyler Russell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and a triple. Meanwhile, Emmett came into Tuesday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Caldwell. That seven run margin sets a new team best for Emmett this season. Bryson Kellam spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryder Sheibe, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Jase Bade was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Skyview's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs per game. As for Emmett, their win bumped their record up to 4-8. Emmett's pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them: Skyview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. It's a different story for Emmett, though, as they've only averaged .230. Will they be able to contain Skyview's hitters? Skyview skirted past Emmett 7-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Will Skyview repeat their success, or does Emmett have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
