Shakopee, MN — Even though Burnsville Blaze Varsity collected seven hits to Shakopee Varsity Sabers' three, they still fell 5-3 on Wednesday at Tahpah Park. Brandon Einberger led Burnsville Blaze Varsity with two hits. Burnsville Blaze Varsity got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Brandon Einberger doubled, and Luke McHugh singled, each scoring one run. Shakopee Varsity Sabers captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the fourth when Nick Johnson drew a walk, scoring one run, Charlie Toenges drew a walk, scoring one run, and Collin Heckman induced Kaden Olson to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored. Nick Johnson earned the win for Shakopee Varsity Sabers. The lefty surrendered seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Collin Heckman took the loss for Burnsville Blaze Varsity. The right-handed pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on zero hits, striking out two and walking seven.
