Nampa, ID — Skyview has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Emmett Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Skyview is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. On Wednesday, Skyview fell victim to a rough 14-7 defeat at the hands of Vallivue. Kenna Bettencourt was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Lily Bittinger was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Meanwhile, Emmett can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They never let Caldwell onto the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but Emmett sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row. Oakley Scheibe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Scheibe has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Scheibe was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. In other batting news, Katey Martinez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and a triple. Another player making a difference was Raegyn Dupree, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Skyview's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-8. As for Emmett, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Skyview hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Emmett struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Skyview took their victory against Emmett when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 11-1. Will Skyview repeat their success, or does Emmett have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
