Grandville, MI — The Fighting Scots picked up their first OK Red Conference win of the season defeating Grandville 7-0. The win was game one of a Tuesday doubleheader, and the first of the three game series against Grandville this week. The last time the Scots traveled to Grandville to play was last season's Regional Semi-Final where the Scots ended Grandville's season and moved on to the Regional Final. Last night's game was highlighted by starting pitcher Andrew Render's six innings of shutout baseball. Render struck out six and allowed only 3 hits and no runs. AJ Roszkowski finished the game on the mound throwing a 1-2-3 seventh inning to seal the win. The Scot offense was highlighted by nine hits on the day including two hits by AJ Szabo, AJ Roszkowski, and Nick Slater. Slater has two RBI singles in the game, Corbin Raffler added two RBI's during the game as well. The Scots also caused chaos on the based stealing eight bases on the day, including three from Raffler, two from Szabo, and Tommy Clarey, and one from Roszkowski.
