Bellingham, WA — The Varsity Seahawks put up a strong fight but ultimately lost 2-0 against Squalicum, one of the top teams in the state, in their playoff game. The match remained tightly contested, with the Seahawks trailing only 1-0 until the final two minutes when they pushed forward in search of an equalizer. Squalicum's movement in the midfield and forward positions was exceptional, but the Seahawks' team defense and disciplined play made it difficult for their opponents to break through. The defensive organization and teamwork were crucial in keeping the game close. The Seahawks' quick counter-attacks created several high-quality chances on goal, but unfortunately, they couldn't convert those opportunities. The team's effort and resilience were evident throughout the game, as they played with incredible intensity and left everything on the field. Coach Brian Nelson expressed pride in his team's performance, stating, "Our boys did a great job of team defending and staying disciplined. They played incredibly hard and left it on the field." The Seahawks now prepare to face Lynden on Saturday in Blaine at 1 pm in the double-elimination tournament, ready to bounce back and continue their playoff journey.
