San Juan Capistrano, CA — 13-5 ! JSerra is headed back to the CIF Championships. "We knew a lit bit about this team," says KOach, "enough to cause us headaches. But the boys that play high level tournaments, Riley and Brady have run across a couple of their players and helped us form lineup that they predicted would give us a 12-6 "W" ! They were right on!" Oak Park came into this semi as an undefeated team. Oak Park stacked their doubles and in the middle of round 1, it looked like their chess moved Trumped ours! But heroic come backs by Alex/Mikey and Connor/Mike G. kept is from going down 2-4, ending up 4-2. KOach Keith was right, we needed to jump on top of them as they just got off a 2-hour ride across the valley and LA to get to JSerra. The coin flip giving us home field was paramount in this win. Doubles went on to capture 3 more sets for a total of 5; when added to Riley, Brady and Cole's 8 set sweep in singles, the Eagles were grounded! Riley beat their #1 player, the only match he lost all year!. then Brady immediately handed him his 2nd "L" of the season. This was a payback revenge match from a contested USTA match Brady lost to him a few months back. What Cole, Brady and Riley did to the line 2 and 3 players was probably not legal, taking 36 games, losing none! Here are some quick FACTS.... JSerra hasn't lost a home match in 2 years! JSerra's only 2 losses in 2 years were both away, both away, to Sage Hill, 8-10 losses in nonconference and in the CIF D2 final last year. Our 2 year record is 37 wins 2 losses! We still have some unfinished business. GO LIONS !!!
