Burnt Hills, NY — Burnt Hills fell 4-3 to Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk on Tuesday despite out-hitting them six to five. Matt Martin led the Spartans with two hits. Burnt Hills took a late lead until Ravena reached on an error in the seventh inning. The Spartans got on the board in the first inning after Silas Marvin drew a walk, scoring one run. Ravena took the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second thanks to two walks. Jack Stuhlman hit a sacrifice fly, which helped the Spartans tie the game at two in the bottom of the third. A single by Martin gave Burnt Hills the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth. Ravena jumped back into the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Wyatt Algozzine singled, and Burnt Hills committed an error, each scoring one run. Thomas Burns earned the win for Ravena. The righty surrendered four hits and two runs over five innings of relief pitching, striking out one and walking three. Atticus Marvin took the loss for Burnt Hills. The reliever went one inning, surrendering two runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out one and walking one. Dominick Morey opened the game for the Spartans. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and two runs over three innings, striking out none and walking five. Alex Halwick stepped on the hill first for the Indians. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out three and walking five. Marvin, Martin, and Stuhlman each drove in one run for Burnt Hills. Timothy Venditti led the team with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks. Venditti also stole two bases. Logan Krause, Halwick, Jack McFerran, Algozzine, and Burns each collected one hit for Ravena. Krause, Algozzine, and Niko Plakas each drove in one run. Krause and Austin Rosado led the team with two bases on balls each.
