Central Valley, NY — Monroe, NY – October 5, 2024 In an unusual Saturday afternoon game, Pine Bush varsity football struggled to find consistency, falling to NYS #11 Monroe-Woodbury 42-14. The Bushmen, accustomed to playing under the Friday night lights, had difficulty establishing momentum against a strong Monroe-Woodbury team. Pine Bush trailed 21-7 at halftime after throwing a first-half touchdown pass, and despite pulling within 28-15 in the second half, Monroe-Woodbury responded and pulled away in the final quarter. The Bushmen added a second touchdown pass late in the game but couldn’t close the gap. Now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Class AA, Pine Bush looks to regroup for their next game on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m., when they travel to Warwick. With a short week ahead, the Bushmen aim to bounce back and return to their winning ways.
