Cheyanne, WY — The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team opened the Springhill Suites Cheyenne Invitational with a win on Friday morning. The 19th-ranked Titans defeated Trinidad State Community College in a thrilling four-set match, 14-25, 25-12, 25-13, 27-25 at Laramie County Community College in Wyoming. Eastern Florida State College got off to a slow start, dropping the first set but rebounded behind freshman Lesmary Raffucci who had a couple of kills early to give the Titans a lead. The Titans would lead throughout the set, taking a 21-10 lead on a Sophia Iglesias ace. The third set saw the Titans once again get off to a fast start as Libby Ashline and Riley Buddie recorded kills and then Aliah Snider had an ace to give them a 4-1 lead. An Iglesias ace gave the Titans an 11-7 advantage and Hailey Mull finished the set with a kill. Trinidad State came out strong in the fourth set, leading throughout much of the set and had a 20-14 lead when the Titans call timeout. Down six, Dominae Jordan had a couple of big kills and then Snider had a pair of kills that cut the lead to 21-19. The Titans would tie the match 21-21 and the teams traded points until Ashline's kill made it 26-25 and then Emma Cook finished it with a kill and a 27-25 win. Jordan finished with 13 kills while Ashline had 10 and three blocks.
