Worthington, MN — -Worthington, MN Wednesday, Dec. 4: The Minnesota West Bluejays hosted the #15 ranked North Iowa Area Community College Trojans. Action started at 125lb with Austin Hansen securing a forfeit for the Bluejays, putting them up 6-0 over the Trojans. NIACC controlled much of the dual from that point on, until #7 ranked Sam Rock put the Bluejays on the board again with a regular decision victory at 174! The Trojans intimately won the dual 47-9. Saturday, Dec. 7: The Bluejays hit the mat again this weekend at the highly competitive BVU Open, with teams ranging from NCAA D1, D2, D3 and NJCAA D1 and D3. Sam Rock was the lone placer for the Bluejays, taking home 4th place out of over 40 athletes at 174. Also achieving success on the day was Aidyn Wolfe at 184, Billey Mensah at 285, and Isaiah Rodriguez who wrestled unattached at 174, placing 8th overall! The Bluejays are back in action next weekend as they head down to Sioux City, IA to take on the highly ranked in NAIA Morningside University Mustangs!
