Coos Bay, OR — Thanks to a gritty defense and the scoring of the senior duo Izzy McCauley and Jordynn Jones, the Cascade Christian girls won their 2024-25 season opener against 4A Marshfield. Trailing by four at halftime, the Challengers chipped away at the Pirates and took the lead for good in the fourth quarter. McCauley led Cascade with 18 points, and the guard added 6 rebounds. Jones added 15 points and led the team in rebounding with 9. Coach Monte Coley says the team’s defense was the key to the win. Next- the Challengers travel to Henley on Friday to take on another 4A opponent.
