San Juan Capistrano, CA — All smiles today as JSerra JV/Prep avenges and early season loss at Crean Lutheran with a 10-8 home victory! In this all-doubles format, JSerra swept 8 of 9 matches at lines 1 through 3 while picking up the extra 2 victories in lines 4 through 6. The initial match, earlier in September, went to the Saints 4-14, so this was a HUUGE upset win by the Lions! This is what coaches are looking for, improvement from the beginning of the season to the end. KOach Knotes: "Traditionally, we send a lot of newbies on the courts 2 1/2 - 3 weeks after the first day of practice with no match experience, very little doubles acumen and a lot of hope! We continue to teach and preach doubles for this very reason. Any of our fans present today can see this improvement!" Keith was so excited to hear the good news!" Lucy and Olivia swept all 3 sets by identical scores of 6-4 in hard-fought tight points, true grit. Analia with Birthday girl, Rilee, swept all 3 sets giving up only 5 games. Both of these duos garner MVP honors for this hat trick! Gabby and Francesca took 2 of the 3 sets they played! Adding the 1 of the other 2 sets were Lily with Eva Dietrich vs Crean's line #3 team. They narrowly missed another 'dub', narrowly dropping a tight tiebreaker set vs line #4. The team of Josie/Josie picked up a 6-3-win vs line #5 in the opening round. KOach Kirk and Jena helped out with the two tiebreaker sets which was appreciated by the Crean players and coach. This match to watch, excellent sportsmanship and great attendance by our Lion Nation!
