Rancho Cucamonga, CA — JSerra's 2024 girls season came to an end today on a blustery wind-driven day at Los Osos High School. Postponed from yesterday due to impossible weather conditions, the Lions traveled up to the base of the mountains at approximately 1200 ft in elevation and battled in the toughest of conditions. The Grizzlies had traveled down to JSerra early in September and beat us by the same score as today, 7-11. We played a very different lineup today, starting 4 freshmen and felt good going in to this match. Our singles girls picked up 4 sets while doubles topped out at three. Scarlett and Brookelyn did their jobs today, beating Los Osos' #2 and #3 players. Brookelyn fought hard and came close to their top player 4-6. Isabella with Naomi did their job too, taking 2 of their 3 sets played, starting off with an upset of the Grizz' top duo! The season is done, but KOach is already looking ahead to next year. "It was good to get into CIF, these girls earned it with a 9-9 game count win over OLu a couple of weeks ago. Getting to the dance, an extra week of concentrated practices and traveling on the 'big bus' coupled with the win or go home atmosphere were my wishes for this young team from the seasons outset." Great job Lions! Looking forward to next year already! Thank you to our parents and fans who braved the weather and traffic to support us today and ALL season!
