Rancho Santa Margarita, CA — Our team closed out the regular season in dominant fashion on Tuesday. The Lions overwhelmed the Santa Margarita Eagles 16-3 in the Trinity League finale at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. JSerra finishes the regular season with a 16-6 overall record and will learn its’ CIF-SS postseason fate on Friday when playoff pairings are scheduled to be announced. The Lions jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first period and were in command the rest of the game, outscoring the Eagles 12-3 over the final three periods. Junior Maddie Weston recorded a hat trick with three goals to lead the Lions. Junior Gabby Elbaz, senior Karissa Hughes, sophomore Kylin Barnes, and sophomore Victoria Williams each found the back of the net twice. Junior Kamryn McCord, junior Sayre Duran, sophomore Vivian Haggard, senior Cam Bibeau, and senior Mary O’Hara each scored a goal for JSerra.
