Irvine, CA — The Varsity girls defeated St. Margaret’s 2-1 in a tense game that included several questionable calls against the Vaqueros. After falling behind 0-1 on one of those questionable calls, Mia Wong tied the score (assisted by Salma Alshami). Poorna Ayyaswamy’s unassisted goal got Irvine the lead and a big save by Raiya Guttery on a penalty kick preserved the win.
