Daly City, CA — Capuchino couldn't quite beat Galileo on Wednesday, but the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point loss they were dealt last Saturday. The Capuchino Mustangs fell just short of the Galileo Lions by a score of 45-42. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row dating back to last season. Capuchino lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dominic Vanden Berghe, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matthew Alas, who scored 12 points in addition to two steals. Galileo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Lim led the charge by earning nine points plus three steals. Nathan Lee was another key player, earning seven points. Capuchino's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Galileo, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2. Capuchino has already played their next contest, a 78-43 victory against Marshall on the 6th. As for Galileo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-51 defeat against Jefferson on the 6th.
