The HJR-Dombroski Team showcased an impressive performance with a 42-20 victory over Leslie at Holt High School on Sunday. Although the team experienced a slow start, they significantly improved their defensive efforts, led by Cameron Powell, who scored all of his game-high 8 points in the first half. Additionally, Cameron Flores and Zachary Mead contributed equally with 8 points each and made significant contributions through steals.
In the second half, the Rams intensified their focus on help defense, rebounding, and ball movement. They dominated the boards, collecting a season-high total of 50 rebounds as they continued to extend their lead. Guy Taylor was particularly noteworthy, finishing with a game-high 11 rebounds. Other players who excelled in rebounding included Kash James (9 rebounds), Zachary Mead (7 rebounds), John Steel, and Jackson Dombroski (5 rebounds each), Cameron Flores (4 rebounds), Adrien Hutchinson, and Cameron Powell (3 rebounds each), Jaxson James (2 rebounds), along with Holden Wharton and Ryan Brookes (1 rebound each) while Liam Vandecar held his defender scoreless for the game!
The Rams improve to 4-3 for their first Red Cedar season, which is set to conclude next weekend at Maple Valley on February 8 before entering tournament weekend, March 1-2. WAY TO GO RAMS!
