Port Huron, MI — By GameChanger Media Ryker Wallace collected five hits in five at bats, as Cass City Red Hawks Varsity defeated Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies 14-3 on Friday at Port Huron High School Varsity Baseball Field. Wallace doubled in the second inning, singled in the third inning, singled in the fifth inning, and doubled in the sixth inning. Cass City Red Hawks Varsity got on the board in the top of the first inning after Dylan Severance was struck by a pitch, and Matt Mellendorf stole home, each scoring one run. Cass City Red Hawks Varsity added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Mellendorf walked, and Carson Anthes singled to left field, each scoring one run. Cass City Red Hawks Varsity added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Mason Brown singled to left field, Ethan Speirs grounded out, Jackson Anthony singled down the right field line, and Wallace singled to left field, each scoring one run. Anthes earned the win for Cass City Red Hawks Varsity. The righty surrendered one hit and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out eight and walking two. Jackson took the loss for Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs (five earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. Garrett Reinke appeared in relief for Cass City Red Hawks Varsity. Cass City Red Hawks Varsity tallied 15 hits in the game. Anthony led Cass City Red Hawks Varsity with two runs batted in.
