Natick, MA — Entering Saturday's game on a 5-game win streak, Wachusett would face off against the 17th ranked team in the state in the Natick Red Hawks. The game was moved up 1 hour due to the snow storm rolling in. After a scoreless first period, Ryan Flaherty gave Wachusett a 1-0 lead at the 2:37 mark in the second period. After a turnover in the neutral zone, the puck found its way to Travis Laidlaw's stick who fed Flaherty for a quick snapshot in the low right corner of the net. The lead was short lived as Natick tied the game at 4:41 and then took the lead at 8:01, both of the second period. Although both teams had quality opportunities to score throughout the game, both goaltenders played outstanding. Kevin Shaw stopped 25 Natick shots to keep Wachusett in the game right until the final buzzer. The loss was only the 3rd of the season for Wachusett who now stand at 14-3-1 on the year. Wachusett will travel to Scituate on Monday to take on the Sailors who are the 5th ranked team in the state at the D III level.
