Lexington, MA — The Battle Road Classic is a two-game tournament played each holiday break where Lexington hosts Acton-Boxboro, Concord-Carlisle and Wachusett. Concord-Carlisle has won the cup the last two years and would complete the 3-peat this year knocking off Wachusett 6 to 1 and beating Lexington in the finals 3-0. It didn't take the Patriots long to get going as they scored just 10 seconds into the game. They would score another goal in the first and take a 2-0 advantage into the first intermission. Wachusett would score its only goal just 3:31 into the second as junior Matt Brousseau skated the puck end-to-end and deked the goalie to pull Wachusett to within 1 and give the team some life. Concord-Carlisle was quick to put out any fire scoring just 1 minute later and extending the lead to 3 to 1. Although Wachusett had numerous chances to score, the Patriots' goalie played solid. Concord-Carlisle added 3 more goals in the final frame en route to a 6 - 1 victory over Wachusett. Trevor Staiti stopped 23 Patriots shots in a solid effort. The loss was Wachusett's first of the season, snapping their 4-game win streak.
