Santa Ana, CA — After days of not getting on the field, the Lady Knights faced the difficult task of facing the #3 ranked team in the Southern Section to open the season. For 5 innings the game stayed within striking distance, and the girls battled keeping the game close at 3-1. Lalli Lopez pitched 5 strong innings, using her change up to keep the Oiler hitters off-balance. Sarah Bubier had the strongest performance at the plate, with a hit and base on balls, but smashing the ball twice into the gloves of the defense. She also had a stolen base, and threw out 2 runners from her position at catcher.
