Bethlehem, PA — The Easton Red Rovers went on the road to Bethlehem Catholic to win a back and forth contest 11 - 9 on Tuesday afternoon against the Golden Hawks. The Red Rovers opened up a 5 - 1 to lead over the Golden Hawks after 2 innings of play. Bethlehem Catholic roared back with 6 runs in the bottom of the third inning capped off by Phil Taylor's Grand Slam. The Golden Hawks added a single run in the fourth inning and another in the sixth inning stretching their lead to 9 -6. The Golden Hawks were carried by 3 home runs one each by Joey Richard, Caden Deegan and Phil Taylor. The Rovers used five pitchers to gain the win. Nolan Fuller started and struggled with his control striking out four Golden hawks but walking six. Rowan Galiotto, Deegan Keller and Jacob Hackman combined for three and one third innings of relief prior to the six run top of the seventh inning. Jacob Hackman induced a key double play to finish the sixth inning in gaining his first Varsity win. Zach Mattes threw a perfect seventh inning to finish the game and gain the save. Easton scored six runs in the Top of the seventh inning to cap off a comeback win 11 - 9. Easton was lead offensively by Cole Ordway who had 2 hits, a double, 2 RBI and 3 Runs Scored. Nolan Fuller 2 hits, a double and 1 RBI. Kurtis Crossman 2 hits, a double and 2 RBI. Brogan Pagotto 2 hits and 2 RBI. Rowan Galiotto and Max Martenis each had 2 RBI. Easton will next be in action on Thursday at home against Freedom.
