Easton Advances to District XI Playoffs with 4 -3 Win Over Bethlehem Catholic

Rovers Win on Senior Day
Easton, PA — The Easton Red Rovers celebrated their Seniors, beat Bethlehem Catholic 4 -3 and qualified for the District XI Tournament all in one afternoon at Charles Richard's Field.
Easton opened up a 3 - 0 lead after 3 innings of play lead by an RBI single by Mason Stout in the second inning and a 2 RBI single by Chase Shollenberger in the third inning
Bethlehem Catholic battled back putting up 2 runs in the top of the fourth inning with a 2 run homer off the bat of Shortstop Bryce Blawn. Caden Deegan added an RBI in the top of the sixth to tie the game 3 -3.
Easton retook the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when second basemen Kham Singto doubled and knocked in Mason Stout who reached by a walk.
Easton closed out the game by stranding Bethlehem Catholics Petros Tsihlis who tripled with one out in the top of the seventh inning. Easton's relief pitcher Zach Mattes then recorded the final 2 outs securing Easton's 4 - 3 win.
Easton was lead offensively by Kham Singto who was 2 for 3 with the game winning RBI and a walk. Chase Shollenberger was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI. Kurtis Crossman was 1 for 2 with a double and was hit by pitch twice. Mason Stout was 1 for 2 with an RBI single and scored the go ahead run in the seventh inning.
Nolan Fuller Easton's Starting Pitcher threw 5 innings of 1 hit baseball. Zach Mattes gained the win throwing 2 innings of no run baseball.
The Rovers will next be in action on Friday night against the Phillipsburg Stateliners at Coca Cola Park. First Pitch 7:05.
