Gallatin, TN — Station Camp Varsity Bison lost to Lake Zurich Varsity Bears 7-2 on Thursday.
Bison got on the board in the first inning after Collin Gillispie singled, scoring one run.
Lucas Hovinen hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Lake Zurich Varsity Bears tie the game at one in the top of the third.
An error gave Lake Zurich the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth.
Alex Bottorff hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Station Camp tie the game at two in the bottom of the sixth.
Lake Zurich flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring five runs on one hit to take the lead, 7-2. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.
Colin Chung earned the win for Lake Zurich. The pitcher gave up four hits and one run over four innings, striking out eight and walking two. Jaxzon Miller took the loss for Station Camp. The lefty went six innings, surrendering four runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out nine and walking none.
Nate Parsons went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Station Camp in hits. Alex Bottorff and Collin Gillispie each drove in one run for the Bison.
Alex Toth, Lucas Hovinen, AJ Foley, Cash Kaczmarek, and Jackson Piggott each drove in one run for Lake Zurich. Owen Strahl went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Bears in hits. Lake Zurich turned one double play in the game. Bears were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. AJ Foley made the most plays with 11.
Next up for Station Camp Varsity Bison is a game against Watkins Memorial Varsity Warriors on Friday.
