Fontana, CA — Despite trailing by as many as four runs, Miller Varsity Rebels rallied to defeat Rim of the World 6-4 on Saturday.
Rim of the World opened the scoring in the first after Jake Ristow singled, scoring one run.
Rim of the World added one run in the third after Ristow singled to center field.
Miller Varsity Rebels flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Adrian Quintana that drove in two.
Ilya Ridge earned the win for Miller Varsity Rebels. The hurler gave up eight hits and four runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking none. #13 took the loss for Rim of the World. The starting pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on three hits, striking out five and walking four.
Quintana went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Nate Lora led Miller Varsity Rebels with three hits in four at bats. Raphael Sotello collected two hits for Miller Varsity Rebels in three at bats.
Miller Varsity Rebels will travel to Rancho Verde for their next game on Tuesday.
