Fontana, CA — Miller Varsity Rebels Go Down On Final Play Against Jurupa Hills By GameChanger Media A walk-off left Miller Varsity Rebels on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Jurupa Hills on Saturday. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run. Miller Varsity Rebels lost despite out-hitting Jurupa Hills seven to five. Ilya Ridge led Miller Varsity Rebels with two hits. Jurupa Hills were the first to get on the board in the first when Gavyn Perez hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. A wild pitch extended the Jurupa Hills lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Jurupa Hills added one run in the third after Jose Plazola hit a sacrifice fly. Miller Varsity Rebels tied the game in the top of the seventh thanks to a single by Adrian Quintana, an error, and a ground out by Giovanni Aguilar. Dylan Hernandez started the game for Miller Varsity Rebels. The hurler allowed four hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Aaden Lopez opened the game for Jurupa Hills. The starter allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking none. Nate Lora and Quintana were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Miller Varsity Rebels. Plazola, Perez, and Matthew Toscano each drove in one run for Jurupa Hills. Alejandro Preciado went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Jurupa Hills in hits. Lopez, Casey Ard, and Toscano each stole multiple bases for Jurupa Hills.
