San Bernardino, CA — Giovanni Aguilar reached base three times in three at bats, as Miller Varsity Rebels defeated San Bernardino 7-1 on Tuesday. Aguilar singled in the seventh inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning. Miller Varsity Rebels won thanks in part to four runs in the second inning. Shawn Bonds induced Ilya Ridge to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Adrian Quintana singled, scoring two runs, and Nate Lora singled, scoring one run. San Bernardino opened the scoring in the first after Antonio Quintero doubled, scoring one run. Liam Good earned the win for Miller Varsity Rebels. The reliever gave up four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out three and walking three. Bonds took the loss for San Bernardino. The starting pitcher went five innings, surrendering six runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking two. Ridge started the game for Miller Varsity Rebels. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and one run over one inning, striking out two and walking none. He was removed after an injury in the second. Miller Varsity Rebels piled up nine hits in the game. Michael Castillo led Miller Varsity Rebels with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Lora collected two hits for Miller Varsity Rebels in four at bats. Miller Varsity Rebels turned two double plays in the game.
